The International Conference on Silicon in Agriculture (ICSA)

The ICSA is the only Si conference of it's kind that is created to discuss the latest knowledge, benefits and important issues of the application of Silicon in agriculture. Conference subjects span from the chemistry of Si fertilizers via Si influence on soil and plants, to the influence of Si on crop nutrition for human and animals. An international setting for the conferences brings together worldly knowledge.

The (ICSA) is held on a triennial basis around the world. Originating in 1999 in Florida, United States, conferences have since been held in 2002 in Tsuruoka, Japan, 2005 in Uberlandia, Brazil, 2008 in Durban, South Africa, 2011 in Beijing, China, 2014 in Stockholm Sweden, and 2017 in Bengaluru, Kamataka, India, 2017. The 8th Conference on Silicon in Agriculture is scheduled to take place in 2020 in Baton Rouge, LA, United States.

The ISSAG was established during the "6th International Conference on Silicon in Agriculture" (ICSA) held in Stockholm Sweden in 2014 by some of the world's top silicon scientist, professionals and peers. It is stated in ISSAG's mission statement "to advance, disseminate and promote the knowledge and use of silicon, based on its benefits to plants, soils, and the environment..." Therefore, these triennial "International Conferences on Silicon in Agriculture" are of great importance and an integral part of ISSAG and the basis for its establishment.
